• March Quilting Event
    March 21, 2016 - March 24, 2016
    8:00 am - 5:00 pm

In the Hawaiian tradition, each Hawaiian quilt is an original design.  Here is your opportunity to learn how to design your very own Hawaiian pattern in whatever size you want (from wall quilt to bed-sized quilt).  It is not a prerequisite to have taken a class on how to make a Hawaiian Quilt; you only need the desire to design your own unique Hawaiian Quilt.  All skill levels welcome. Drawing skills are not necessary. If you can cut paper you can do this.

Hawaiian quilts look awesome in their symmetry and beauty, and yet are surprisingly easy to make.  Nancy will teach you every individual step so you can enjoy the stress-free process of making your own Hawaiian wall or bed quilt—the one you designed in the first two days.  You will have hands-on experience cutting out your Hawaiian quilt and getting the fabrics ready to start the applique’.  Then on day four, you will learn Nancy’s techniques for stress-free needleturn applique, and you will learn how to draw the echo quilting lines that make Hawaiian quilts so special.  All experience levels welcome for this 4-day workshop; that means it is appropriate for beginners and experts alike.
